Our Artists 

Arabang Raditapole is a prominent figure in the art world, celebrated for her vibrant Abstract paintings, Spontaneous realism portraits, and Pop art creations. Originally from Lesotho, Arabang is an emerging Contemporary artist based in Daveyton, Gauteng, South Africa. Despite lacking formal training in painting, she has established herself as a self-taught artist, diving into the professional art scene in April 2017.

Arabang's artistic journey began in her early years, as she poured her creativity into drawing sketches and fashion design. She works with a diverse range of media, including painting, mixed media art made from recycled materials, and personalized clothing featuring portraits of individuals or their favorite celebrities. Acrylics, oil painting, and charcoal are her preferred mediums.

Driven by a passion for storytelling, Arabang infuses each of her artworks with a unique narrative, drawing inspiration from nature and human emotions. Constantly evolving and experimenting, she aims to connect with audiences worldwide through her art, with aspirations for global exhibitions that touch hearts and minds. In the near future, she plans to host a solo exhibition focusing on her Sesotho culture and its rich history.

Francisca, a Zimbabwean visual artist currently based in Scotland, boasts a rich artistic career spanning over three decades. Her exquisite artworks have graced private collections worldwide and have been commissioned by clients in Zimbabwe, Sierra Leone, and the UK. As a distinguished artist, Francisca has received the prestigious New Art School 2021 Fine Art Practice and Contemporary Painting Scholarship, along with the cohort prize. Her remarkable talents were further recognized when she was appointed as a 2021 TED Fellow. In collaboration with the 2023 WASH project, a short film featuring her paintings garnered acclaim and was nominated for a WHO Health award.

Originally hailing from the culturally diverse and vibrant nation of Cameroon, Sabi Matuba's scholarly pursuits are driven by a deep-rooted passion for uncovering the historical narratives and spiritual essence of African traditions. Through her research and academic endeavors, she seeks to shed light on the often misunderstood and marginalized aspects of African Spirituality, aiming to foster greater appreciation and recognition for these profound belief systems. Born in 1994, Kganya Mogashoa embarked on her artistic journey in 2018, initiating live painting sessions within her local church. As a self-taught multidisciplinary artist specializing in mixed-medium paintings using oil and acrylic, Mogashoa focuses her creative energy on portraiture and human figures, drawing inspiration from the evolving societal responses to women's roles and needs.

 

Functioning as a social activist through her art, Mogashoa aims to prompt tangible responses to social challenges faced by women while raising awareness of the broader societal implications of these issues through her traveling art exhibitions. Her artistry is fueled by a desire to reshape societal narratives, capturing transformative moments and depicting inspiring women who embody the change she envisions. Particularly noteworthy are her recent works highlighting the importance of representing African women on currency notes and coins.

Her admission to the prestigious Lycée d'Enseignement Artistique d'Abidjan (LEA) in Cocody provided her with a platform to refine her skills and master fundamental techniques.

Following her academic achievements, Tehoua has emerged as an accomplished artist, creating works that are a testament to her unique vision and creativity. Concurrently, she pursues her studies in Interior Architecture at the National School of Fine Arts in Abidjan, delving into the realm of 'Interior Architecture and Design.' Tehoua draws inspiration from both historical narratives and contemporary themes, engaging in a profound exploration of human existence through her art.

Thembi Khumalo, a skilled artist specializing in landscape art and sculpture, is a proud recipient of a national diploma in Fine Art from the renowned Vaal University of Technology. With a passion for creating captivating landscapes and intricate sculptures, Thembi has showcased her talent at prestigious events such as Africa's Art Collective, hosted by Julie Miller Investment Art, and exhibitions at the Faculty of Art and Design at the Vaal University of Technology.
